IOLA, Kan. - Hesston College men's basketball put up a strong effort but came up short in a hard-fought 84-81 loss against Allen County Community College in the first round of the KJCCC Tournament.
The Larks started strong, leading by as many as 17 in the first half and taking a 46-35 lead by halftime with efficient shooting and aggressive defense. However, Allen County found rhythm in the second half, outscoring Hesston 49-35 to complete the comeback victory.
Trent Thompson led the way for Hesston with 26 points, eight rebounds, and five steals, while Jammial Hicks added 23 points and five rebounds. John Probey contributed 17 points, four rebounds, and two blocks, while Terryon Stebbins provided eight points and four rebounds. The Larks shot 43.3% from the field, including 34.8% from three-point range, and made 15-of-21 free throws.
