SALINA, Kan. – The Hesston College softball team dropped a pair of contests to Cloud County Community College on Saturday (Apr. 26).

Game 1 – Hesston College 1, Cloud County Community College 3

The Thunderbirds got on the board early plating a pair of runs in the opening frame, but Lark starter Julia Moore began to settle in and held them scoreless for the next four innings. The Larks struggled early on offense but were able to push a run across in the fourth as Macy Bullard doubled to the left side to bring in Serena Hewes who reached on a leadoff single. Cloud County score their final run in the sixth and hung on to win the opener.

Bullard and Grace Boling each had two hits in the contest.

Moore allowed three runs on two hits and one walk while striking out seven.

Game 2 – Hesston College 0, Cloud County Community College 8

Anndi Sharp held the Thunderbirds to one run through the first three innings, but they poured it on in the fourth scoring six runs. The Larks struggled to get on base with only two hits in the contest.

Carly Lee and Boling each recorded a hit.

Sharp went 3.1 frames and allowed six runs on seven hits and two walks.
