ROGERS, Ark. - Hesston College men's soccer battled hard on the road, but came up just short in a 3-2 loss to Ecclesia College on Sept. 9. Ecclesia struck first with a pair of first-half goals, as Julius Herzog opened the scoring in the 23rd minute off a pass from Pedro Figueroa, and Colin Sarpong doubled the lead in the 39th minute with Herzog providing the assist. The Larks showed resilience in the second half, cutting into the deficit with a team goal in the 63rd minute before pulling even in the 71st minute when Alexander Radu scored on an assist from Saul Pineda. The momentum swung back to Ecclesia late, however, as Herzog delivered the game-winner in the 88th minute to secure the 3-2 result.

Statistically, Hesston recorded six total shots with goals coming from Radu and the team tally, and Pineda credited with the lone assist. Radu and Paul Torres Jr. each led the attack with three shots apiece, while goalkeeper Ethan Connelly turned in a busy outing with 11 saves on 14 shots faced. Ecclesia generated steady pressure throughout, finishing with 14 shots, including three from Herzog and three from Angel Portillo. Goalkeeper Damian Castro made three saves for the Royals.
