Hesston College sophomore guard Trent Thompson earned his second CAC Player of the Week honor of the season this past week as announced by the conference on Tuesday (Jan. 20). Thompson played a massive role in the Larks first two wins over fellow NAIA institutions this week as they went 2-0 at the CAC Classic hosted by Haskell Indian Nations University over the weekend. This marks the third POTW honor for the Larks this season.

Thompson started the week with 16 points, six rebounds and four assists in a back and forth home contest against Haskell on Tuesday (Jan. 13). At the CAC Classic, the Okmulgee, Okla. native led the Larks to a 96-81 win over Florida National, recording 27 points and 14 rebounds going 11-of-14 from the free throw line. He closed out the weekend with another double-double, posting 30 points and 13 rebounds in a 92-84 win against Haskell where he broke the single-game program record for made free throws with 20. With five games remaining in the regular season, Thompson is 12 made free throws away from the program record for made free throws in a season. Across the three games, Thompson averaged a double-double with 24.3 points and 11 rebounds per game.

Thompson and the Larks will look to keep their momentum going as they head to Creve Coeur, Mo. to take on Missouri Baptist on Wednesday (Jan. 21) to take on Missouri Baptist University at 7:30 p.m.
