SPRINGDALE, Ark. — The Hesston College men's soccer team picked up a convincing 5-1 road victory over Ecclesia College on Sept. 22, using a strong offensive performance to pull away from the Royals.

Hesston opened the scoring in the 30th minute when Mario Delgado found the back of the net off an assist from Paul Torres. Jaiden Trevelyan doubled the advantage five minutes later, converting a penalty kick to give the Larks a 2-0 lead at halftime.

The Larks continued to apply pressure early in the second half. Santiago Llanos scored in the 50th minute with an assist from Jayden Chaiyote, extending Hesston's lead to 3-0. Ecclesia answered five minutes later when Angel Portillo scored to cut the deficit to two goals.

Hesston responded with two more goals to put the match out of reach. Delgado scored his second goal of the afternoon in the 65th minute, assisted by Trevelyan, before James Hori added another goal in the 75th minute on an assist from Tiago Oliveira.

Hesston outshot Ecclesia 32-10 and held a 16-7 advantage in shots on goal. The Larks also earned 12 corner kicks compared to two for the Royals.

Delgado led Hesston with two goals on seven shots, while Trevelyan recorded a goal and an assist on 10 shots. Llanos, Hori and Trevelyan each scored once. Luis Jimenez made six saves in 75 minutes of action in goal for the Larks.
