HILLSBORO, Kan. — The Hesston College men's soccer team battled Tabor College to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday night in Hillsboro. 

Hesston generated several opportunities in the opening half. James Hori put the Larks' first shot on goal in the 13th minute before Jaiden Trevelyan forced a save in the 30th. Trevelyan nearly broke through moments later, but Tabor defender Gabriel Pottecher Kelley made a defensive save to keep the match scoreless. 

The Larks continued to apply pressure late in the half. Saul Pineda put a shot on goal in the 41st minute, and Santiago Llanos followed with another attempt on target just before halftime. Hesston finished the first half with seven shots and six corner kicks while holding Tabor to two shots. 

Tabor created more chances after halftime, forcing Hesston goalkeeper Harry Morris into a pair of saves early in the second half. Trevelyan answered with another shot on goal in the 65th minute, but Tabor goalkeeper Ignacio Fabeiro made the stop. 

The Bluejays continued to threaten down the stretch, but Morris made saves in the 73rd, 80th and 85th minutes to preserve the shutout. Hesston had opportunities of its own, including a Pineda shot on goal in the 80th minute and a final attempt from Mateo Gonzalez at the end of regulation. 

Hesston finished with a 12-10 advantage in shots and an 8-6 edge in shots on goal while earning seven corner kicks to Tabor's two. Trevelyan led the Larks with three shots, all on goal, while Pineda added three shots with two on target. Morris finished with six saves to record the shutout.

The Larks will return to action Saturday, Sept. 5 when they travel to Haviland, Kan., to face Barclay College at 11 a.m.
