The Larks secured their first KJCCC win tonight against Garden City Community College (3-2), bringing their overall record to (2-4, 1-3) on the season.  The first half was a back and forth battle between the two defenses.  Garden City got on the board first with a goal in the 31st minute, but the Larks wasted no time and added a goal of their own by Annalys Hanna (Fr. Fraser, CO) in the 36th minute, as she made a beautiful move past the goalie to even up the score 1-1.  The two teams would put each other on lock defensively the rest of the first half, with the score 1-1 going into the second half.  The Larks caught fire in the beginning of the second half, when Kara Longnecker (Fr. Rockingham, VA) added a goal in the 48th minute to put the Larks ahead 2-1.  Kara Longnecker added her second goal (assisted by Jennifer Rodriguez) of the match in the 57th minute, when she hit it off of the crossbar.  Garden City added their second goal of the night by Crystal Ruvalcaba in the 75th minute to make the score 3-2 in favor of the Larks.  This win snaps Hesston's 20 game KJCCC Region VI losing streak for the Larks.  The Larks are in action again on Saturday, September 21 at 2:00 pm against Dodge City Community College.
