Kessay's Game Winner Leads Larks to Conference Win

Fort Scott, KS -

The Larks traveled to Fort Scott Community College yesterday, and defeated the Greyhounds 55-53 on a game winning shot by Destiny Kessay (Fr. McNary, Ariz.).  This win brings their overall record to (3-15, 1-0) on the season, and puts the Larks in first place in the conference standings.  



Game Notes

Hesston defeated the Greyhounds last night by a score 55-53, this was the Larks first win over the Greyhounds since February 25, 2015.  The teams were tied 53-53 with less than 8 seconds when they attempted a two point shot that was missed, and that's when Destiny Kessay grabbed the rebound and put it back in to secure the victory for the Larks!  Sydney Bontrager (Fr. Milford, Neb.) continued her dominance as she secured her 5th double-double of the season as she had 13 points and 13 rebounds.  Destiny Kessay had quite the night as well as she scored 9 points and has 6 rebounds!  Brandaija Johnson (Fr. Wichita, KS)had a career high in points with 14, and shot 6-10 form the field!

What's Next?

The Larks will now travel to Kansas City Kansas Community College on Saturday, January 25 and face off with the #2 team in the nation at 1:00 PM.
