The Larks hosted Labette CC in their final home regular season game on Saturday afternoon inside Yost Center and they would end up falling 74-61. This loss ends their regular season record at (5-24, 1-9), with them losing their final seven games. Hesston will now get ready for the first round of the Region VI tournament.Â
Game Notes
The Larks played one of their best games as a team against the Cardinals as they went back and forth all game long. Hesston went up on the Cardinals in the first quarter by eight points as it seemed like the couldn't miss from the field. At the end of the first quarter the Larks trailed 20-17, to a Labette team that is ranked number two in the nation. Both teams couldn't put a long run together as the score was 43-31. Labette was able to hold their lead for the rest of the game, but the Larks played stellar defense and didn't allow Labette to take the game out of hand.Â
Sydney Bontrager recorded her tenth double-double of the season as she finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds.Â
Destiny Kessay also had a good night shooting as she led the team in scoring with 17 points on 6-16 shooting from the field.
