The Larks traveled down to Wichita this afternoon to face off with Friends JV for the last time this season. Â They would ultimately fall to the Falcons by a score of 63-48, this loss drops the Larks record to (1-3) on the season.
Hesston started the game off by giving up an early basket to the Falcons, but quickly regained the lead after
Kirah Stepps (Fr. Wichita, Kan.) drained a three pointer to put them up 3-2. Â Friends JV would take the lead back from the Larks, but with
Kirah Stepps would score four unanswered points to give Hesston an 8-6 lead. Â The Falcons would go on to extend their lead for the rest of the quarter as they led 22-10 going into the second quarter. Â The Larks would find themselves down by 14 points with 4:16 left in the quarter, but would shrink that lead to just 6 points at the half as they trailed 30-24. Â Friends JV would open the third quarter by extending their lead back to 14 points, but the Larks would trim it again after
Star Her Many Horses (Fr. Lawrence, Kan.) drained a corner three, followed by a layup by
Destiny Kessay (So. McNary, Ari.). Â In the fourth,
Sierra Campos (Fr. Wichita, Kan.) started the scoring early as she scored under the basket to make the score 49-38 in favor of the Falcons. Â Friends ended up being to much for the Larks to handle as they ended up falling 63-48. Â
Kirah Stepps had a career night as she scored 17 points as she shot 5-9 from three point range. Â
Sydney Bontrager finished with her fourth consecutive 10+ rebound game as she had 16 rebounds, she also added 5 blocks and 5 points. Â
The Larks will begin preparing for their next game on Wednesday, February 3 at 5:00 PM as they face off with Bethel JV inside Yost Center. Â
