The Larks fell in back to back days against Labette CC as they almost pulled off the upset in both games. Last night the Larks fell by score of 62-47 and this afternoon they fell 64-59. Their record now sits at (4-10, 0-6) on the season as they will face off with KCK on Saturday afternoon inside Yost Center for Sophomore Day.
Game 1
Last night both teams faced off as the Cardinals entered their first game in over a month, but they were able to defeat the Larks 62-47. With about 55 seconds left in the third quarter the Larks took a 38-37 lead.
Sydney Bontrager would lead the Larks in scoring as she finished with a double-double as she had 16 points and 13 rebounds on 8-17 shooting from the field. Sydney also recorded her third consecutive game with 5+ blocks in a game as she had 5 blocks.
Sadie Svymbersky finished with a career high 12 points as she came off the bench and hit some clutch shoots for the Larks!
Destiny Kessay finished with 11 points and 4 rebounds on the night.
Game 2
This afternoon the Larks and Cardinals faced off for the second game in a row and Labette would go on to take the game 64-59. The Larks led the multiple times and even held a 6 point lead with 9:01 left in the second quarter.
Destiny Kessay had a career performance and one of the best in Lark Women's Basketball history as she finished with 34 points on 15-23 shooting from the field, and she scored 26 points in the second half.
Sydney Bontrager recorded another double-double as she finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds.
Aydan Everett made a huge impact for the Larks this afternoon as she finished with 7 assists and 4 steals!
