Baseball Continues Win Streak

Hesston, KS -


The Larks hosted McPherson JV on Thursday afternoon, and were able to come away with a DH sweep of the Bulldogs as they won game one 14-4 and game two 12-2.  They now hold an overall record of 17-16 and are on a four game winning streak.  They will look to continue that streak in their next DH when they host the #13 NOC-Enid on Tuesday afternoon.  


Game One

The Larks defeated the Bulldogs in game one after Dawson Winter put up video game numbers as he went 3-4 and drove in 6 runs on a double and a home run.  Winter enters the top ten all-time in Larks baseball history for home runs in a season.  Eli Prine went 3-3 and had a home run while driving in 3 runs, Eli sits just two RBI shy of tying the all-time record for RBI in a season.  Easton Unruh got the start on the mound for the Larks and was able to come away with his second win of the season after throwing 4 innings whhile striking out 5 hitters.  


Game Two

The Larks kept their bats alive in game two as they went on to beat McPherson by run rule in game two by a score of 12-2 in 5 innings.  The Larks stole 9 bases in this game as Halen David led the team with 4 stolen bases in the game.  Hesston was able to put up a ten spot in the bottom of the fourth inning as they would go on to take the victory.  Devin Catlin got the start on the mound for the Larks as he went 4 innings while striking out 6 batters on just 2 hits.  Devin now brings his pitching record to 4-2 on the season, and drops his season era to 4.38!


The Larks will host the Jets on Tuesday afternoon at Oswald Field, we will provide scoring updates during the game on our social media pages.
