Hesston, KS -
Women's Soccer hosted Tabor JV last night in their final non-conference contest before beginning conference play on Wednesday. Â The Larks also looked to get their first win of the season as they came into the match with a 0-5-1 record. Â
The first 20 minutes of this match was back and forth of great defensive play by both teams, but in the 20th minute Tabor got on the board first on a goal that was mishandled by goalie
Katie Robeck. Â In the 30th minute, the Larks were able to get themselves on the board on a goal by
Kara Longenecker that was assisted by
Aydan Everett to even the score up at 1-1. Â You can find a video of the goal
HERE. Â
In the second half, Tabor got on the board first as they took a 2-1 lead in the 50th minute. Â Just 10 minutes later, the Blue Jays added another goal to extend their lead to 3-1, but the Larks quickly answered 2 minutes later on a PK goal by
Jasmin Ventura as the Larks trailed 3-2.  Hesston would have a goal called back that would have tied up the game late in the second half, that would go on to cost them as they fell 3-2 to Tabor. Â
Hesston moves to 0-6-1 on the season and is set to begin conference play on Wednesday when they travel to Nebraska for their match with Central CC. Â
