Women's Soccer traveled up to Columbus, Nebraska for their first region/conference match of the season as the Larks looked to get their first win of the season. Â They came into the match with a 0-6-1 record, head coach
Thomas Gaskell also looked to secure his first career coaching win as the Larks coach. Â
In the first half, both teams were unable to get a goal as it was knotted up at 0-0. Â The Larks showed outstanding defense as they stopped any attack from Central CC. Â
The second half started out with a bang for the Larks as they got on the board early when
Torrance Gonzalez got the ball by the goalie as it gave the Larks a 1-0 lead. Â
Katie Robeck had another outstanding game in the goal as she pitched her first shutout of the season as Hesston took the match 1-0. Â
The Larks improved their record to 1-6-1 on the season and moved to 1-0 in region/conference play. Â They will now host Southeast CC on Saturday evening as they look to move to 2-0. Â
