Hesston, Kan - The women's basketball team won their first game of the season on Thursday evening 80-68 over the Bethany Swedes.  Head Coach Vincent DeLisio got his first collegiate coaching win with this victory. Leading the Larks in scoring was freshman Norika Welch with 29 points. Other Larks in double digits were, sophomores Kelsey Koza (14) and Kaley Phillips (12), as well as freshman Ashlynn Davis with 10. The defense was fierce, forcing 21 turnovers; 14 being from steals. 

Bethany had a 16 point lead in the first quarter that Hesston was able to chip away at thanks to a 29 point second quarter explosion. 

This was the largest offensive output the Larks have had on the season with four double digit scorers and two halves of 40 or more points.  

Turning Point

Hesston was able to pull away for a 16 point lead with four minutes left in the third quarter, and was able to keep a double digit lead the rest of the way.
