HESSTON, Kan. – The Hesston College men's basketball team faced a close game against Kansas Christian College, ultimately falling just short with a final score of 66-64 on Wednesday (November 13).
The game was tightly contested, with Kansas Christian leading at halftime, 36-31. The Larks managed to outscore the Falcons in the second half, 33-30, but it wasn't enough to close the gap completely. Hesston displayed a strong defensive presence, recording nine blocks and eight steals, which kept them competitive throughout.
Top performers for the Larks included Jammial Hicks, who scored 12 points and contributed two blocks. D'Angelo Dawkins added nine points and pulled down eight rebounds, providing a solid effort on both ends of the court. Meanwhile, Trent Thompson's all-around performance, with six steals and two blocks, showcased his defensive capabilities. Terryon Stebbins also made an impact with ten rebounds and two blocks.
Despite a strong effort, Hesston's shooting struggled from beyond the arc, hitting only one of 17 three-point attempts. This, combined with Kansas Christian's slight edge in scoring and rebounding, ultimately made the difference in the close contest.
The Larks will be back in action on Saturday (November 16) as they host Redlands Community College at 6 p.m.
