HESSTON, Kan. – The Hesston College women's basketball team was narrowly defeated by the Haskell Indian Nations University JV 69-63 on Wednesday (November 20). The Larks led by three at the half, but a pair of late three's from the Indians gave them the final advantage.
Hesston's Akiva Brown led the team with an impressive 18 points and 8 rebounds, showcasing efficiency by shooting 70% from the field. Gresa Arapi added firepower with 16 points, including four three-pointers, while Hanah Debelle contributed 6 points and led the team in assists with six. Haskell's Layla Harjo was a standout, scoring 23 points and notching 10 assists, playing a critical role in her team's victory. The visiting team's efficient shooting (41.9% from the field) and defensive pressure (14 steals) helped them overcome Hesston's strong rebounding and bench contributions.
