KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Hesston College men's basketball team delivered a commanding 97-79 victory over Metropolitan Community College on Saturday (November 23).
The Larks set the tone early, outscoring Metro 43-32 in the first half and maintaining their dominance with a 54-point second-half performance. Leading the charge was Jammial Hicks, who scored 23 points, including four three-pointers, while adding five rebounds to his stat line. Terryon Stebbins also made a significant impact, contributing 18 points, six rebounds, and four steals, demonstrating his two-way abilities. Trent Thompson provided additional support with 11 points and six rebounds, shooting an efficient 66.7% from the field.
Hesston's offense was in sync, shooting 53.1% from the field and an impressive 60.9% from beyond the arc, sinking 14 three-pointers. The Larks' defense also played a critical role, forcing turnovers and recording five steals while committing only four turnovers themselves. Hesston's ability to convert on Metro's mistakes added 11 points off turnovers, and their bench contributed a solid 26 points to the team's effort.
