Mitchell Margaris Tabbed First Head Esports Coach In Hesston College Athletics History

Hesston College is proud to announce our first Esports Head Coach Mitchell Margaris.

Mitchell comes to Hesston with a wealth of knowledge in Esports as he was the Grays Harbor College Head Coach for Esports for three seasons. He also received the opportunity most recently to step into the role of Athletic Director at the school. We are extremely excited as an Athletic Department to add Mitchell's collegiate expertise. Margaris will begin recruiting right away, and will join campus in May.

Why was Hesston a good fit for you? "My family and I have always wanted to get out more towards the Midwest. I felt really great connection with so many departments through the interview process, it made the decision easy. The small school environment is something I love, because it promotes so much support from all areas of the school. I just could easily envision building a championship program here."

Starting a brand new program at Hesston College what does that mean to you? "Starting it from the ground up is pure excitement. You get to mold the program and culture exactly the way you want to. There will always be some growing pains, but that just makes your program stronger. In just two years time at my previous institution we brought home a National Championship, and that will be the goal here. I want to continue to develop the students that come in here as not only Esports players but students, workers and members of society. But at the end of the day, the ultimate goal is to bring Hesston some hardware."

What are you most looking forward to? " I am looking forward to getting rolling. I enjoy the recruiting process and making connections. Nothing is better than watching that first player put ink on their LOI. I am also excited to see our space come together. Being part of that process

will be really fun, and the hope is to create a space that our students just can't get enough of."

"The opportunity to come join the Lark family is very exciting! The support and drive to win is already very apparent here, and I hope to add to that. We are hoping to make Hesston College not only attractive, but a desired location in the world of Esports."
