Hesston, Kan -Ā The Hesston Larks split a doubleheader with the Friends Falcons on Tuesday afternoon to earn their second win of the season.Ā

Game 1: Freshman Dylan Rich earned his first collegiate win while freshman Paxton Rees finished the game earning his first collegiate save.Ā

Aidan McCullough the Larks freshman leadoff hitter continued his hot start to the season with a 2-for-3, (2) doubles, (1) run, and one run batted in performance. McCullough also was able to steal one of the six stolen bases for Hesston. Freshman Kaleb Cain led the team with two stolen bases. In all, the Larks either stole or got on base via hit by pitch for a total of nine free bases.Ā Ā

Game 2: Seventh inning defense resulting in three errors proved to be too costly as Larks fell to the Falcons in game two 6-2. Hesston took a 2-0 lead into the top of the seventh. Sophomore Jarod Fugate had his best outing of the season with a 4.1 innings, five strikeout, zero run performance.Ā

Sophomore Connor Bear was charged with the loss as he gave up five runs over 2.1 innings. Although only two of those runs were earned due to the infield errors. Aiden McCullough again had two hits, raising his season batting average to .381.Ā

On offense Brian Walker was the other bright spot as he had (1) double and a run batted in, his 5th on the season.Ā

Hesston will be back in action at home on Saturday March 9th 1/4pm and Sunday March 10th 12/3pm against the currently (2-5) Marshalltown Community College Tigers.Ā
