HESSTON, Kan. - The Hesston College volleyball team fell short in a 3-1 match against Labette Community College on September 18, 2024. Labette took the first set 25-22, but Hesston bounced back to win the second set 25-20. Despite the effort, Labette won the next two sets, 25-21 and 25-19, to secure the victory.
Hesston had 45 kills in the match with a .033 hitting percentage. Leading the attack for Hesston were Brittany Cato and Laura Rojas with 11 kills each. Defensively, Sarahi Paez contributed 15 digs, while Leyre Asenjo added 14 digs. Audrey Garrison supported the team with 17 assists.
Labette posted 43 kills and a .127 hitting percentage in the match. Their defense tallied 79 digs, with Dayanara Castillo leading the effort with 28 digs. Bailey Brockus led Labette's offense with 13 kills.
The Larks will be back in action on Wednesday (September 35) as they travel to Iola, Kan. to take on Allen Community College at 6:30 p.m.
