Volleyball Sweeps Randall in Three Hard Fought Sets

HESSTON, Kan. - The Hesston College volleyball team earned a decisive 3–0 sweep over Randall University (28–26, 27–25, 25–17) on Tuesday night at Yost Center, capping a strong all-around performance that showcased balanced offense and gritty defense from start to finish.

The opening set set the tone for the night as both teams traded points through 15 ties. Hesston leaned on steady attacking from Lillian Dolberry, who tallied several key kills down the stretch, and Tanna Owens, who sealed the 28–26 win with a late finish. Audrey Garrison kept the offense in rhythm with precise setting throughout, recording 44 assists on the night.

Set two proved just as tight, with 17 ties and seven lead changes before the Larks closed it out 27–25 behind clutch plays from Layla Romero and Lydia Foster. Hesston's front line came up big at the net, with Dolberry and Owens combining for multiple block assists to slow Randall's attack.

In the third set, the Larks took command early and never looked back. Owens and Kennedie Esparza connected for quick kills, while Dolberry and Foster continued to pressure the Randall defense. Hesston closed on a 6–2 run to complete the sweep 25–17.

Dolberry led the Larks with 14 kills, four block assists and 17 total points, hitting an efficient .306. Foster followed with nine kills and a .500 hitting percentage, while Owens added 10 kills and three block assists. Romero also reached double figures with 10 kills. Taylor anchored the defense with a match-high 24 digs, and Garrison's 44 assists helped Hesston hit .280 as a team compared to Randall's .157.

The Larks will travel to Kansas City on Friday (Oct. 24) to take on Kansas Christian at 6 p.m.
