HESSTON, Kan. – The Hesston College women's basketball team fell to Allen Community College 94-25 on Saturday (Feb. 8).
Allen County came out strong from the opening tip, dominating the first quarter with a 27-5 lead. Hesston struggled to find offensive rhythm throughout the game, managing only three points in the second quarter, trailing 51-8 at halftime.
Despite their efforts, the Larks were unable to match Allen County's efficiency, shooting just 17.2% from the field (10-of-58). Allen County, in contrast, capitalized on their opportunities, shooting 52.7% overall and 42.1% from beyond the arc.
Akiva Brown led Hesston with 11 rebounds and six points, while Ashleigh Williams added seven points. Mariah Hall contributed six points and three steals. Hesston fought hard on the boards, securing 40 total rebounds, but turnovers (22) and shooting woes proved costly.
The Larks will be back in action on Monday (Feb. 10) at 5:30 p.m. as they host Highland Community College.
