KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Hesston College fell to Kansas City Kansas Community College on Monday (Feb. 24) by a final score of 78-38. The Larks got off to a competitive start, finishing the first quarter tied at 16-16. However, KCKCC pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring Hesston 21-5 to take control of the game. Despite a strong third quarter where Hesston put up 15 points, they struggled offensively in the fourth, managing only two points while KCKCC closed the game with a dominant 28-point final period.
The Larks were led in scoring by Akiva Brown with 10 points, while Mariah Hall added seven points and eight rebounds. Anna Mcintire contributed eight points.
Hesston struggled with shooting efficiency, hitting just 25% from the field and 21.4% from three-point range. They also committed 21 turnovers, which KCKCC converted into 24 points.
The Larks will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday (Feb. 26) as they Host Johnson County Community College at 5:30 p.m.
