OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Hesston College men's golf team kicked off the NAIA era by breaking three school records at the UC Ferguson Classic hosted by Oklahoma City University. Due to inclement weather, the tournament was cut back from the originally planned 54 holes to 36 holes. The Larks finished ninth in the 12-team field shooting a record low 574 (+6) as a team, shattering the previous record by seven strokes. The Larks shot 285(+1) in the second round breaking the records for lowest team round (287) and lowest team round against par (+2).
The Larks were led by Liam Leikeryd who finished T-28th shooting an even 142 with rounds of 72(+1) and 70(-1). Vilde Dahlberg and Hugo Von Sicard tied for 32nd place finishing with scores of 143(+1).
Hesston will be back in action Sept. 8-9 at the Siouxland Invitational hosted by Dordt University in Orange City, Iowa.
