Golf Sets Another Record and Central Plains Invitational

NEWTON, Kan. – The Hesston College golf team competed at the Central Plains Invitational hosted by Kansas Wesleyan University at Sand Creek Station from Sept. 22-23.  The Larks sent two teams that finished fifth and seventh respectively. The Larks A-team set a new record for lowest round vs. par in the tournament's second round, beating the previous mark—set earlier this year—by one stroke. The A-team shot a 54-hole total of 898 (+34) with rounds of +16, E and +18., while the B-team finished +66 with rounds of +24, +14 and +28.

Hugo Von Sicard led the Larks with a 215 (-1) total with rounds of 73, 71 and 71. Von Sicard had eight birdies in the tournament. Vilde Dahlberg had the fifth-most birdies in the tournament with 11 and Sondre Einasrund was one of two players to card two eagles.

The Larks will be back in action next week (Oct. 6-7) at the Evangel Fall Invitational in Joplin, Mo.
