AMARILLO, Texas — The Hesston College men's golf team placed fifth at the Top of Texas Invitational at Tascosa Golf Club, hosted by Wayland Baptist University, finishing the tournament with a team score of +77 and earning 20.31 team points.
The Larks opened the tournament with a +23 in round one, followed by a +30 in round two and a +24 in the final round, showing improvement on the final day of competition.
Individually, Vilde Dahlberg, freshman from Vaxjo, Sweden, led the Larks with a 15th-place finish, posting a +16 tournament score and earning 20.07 points. Kory Meireis, freshman from Kingman, Kan., and Liam Leikeryd, freshman from Gothenburg, Sweden, both finished tied for 20th with a +20 score, each earning 14.38 points.
Hugo Von Sicard, freshman from Sundsvall, Sweden, finished in 28th place with a +25 score, good for 9.48 points. Max Laser Edin, freshman from Stockholm, Sweden, and Ayden Garcia, freshman from Dalhart, Texas, tied for 33rd place, each finishing at +32 and earning 5.29 points. Logan Lam, freshman from Wichita, Kan., finished tied for 35th with a +33 score and earned 4.87 points.
The Larks will return to action March 16–17 at the Texarkana Invitational in Texarkana, Texas.
